Mariana Murta (1991) is a Portuguese artist living in Belgium. She has presented her work in Amsterdam, Prague, Dusseldorf, Leipzig and in Antwerp where she is currently based.

Her work centers around body, identity and gender, fusing abject images, mythology, body horror tropes and day to day objects  in order to create absurd, vulnerable role playing self-portraits. These images are mixed into an uncanny alternate world where the body is pushed and molded to its limits representing a shifting fluid identity.
